Today I've found a great story that must be told. Angelo Merendino is an american photographer who decided to be brave, and to show everyone the love he felt for his wife, although it is not a happy-ending story. Five months after their wedding, Jennifer, Angelo's wife, was diagnosed with breast cancer. They decided to fight it toghether, looking for each other. As photographer, Angelo decided to capture all that fight against cancer, showing everyone how love can be a great weapon against pain. This is probably one of the most breath-taking reports I've ever seen. There is beauty even in the most horrible situations. It's strength is admirable. It's a "must-see" for everyone who loves photography... for everybody, indeed. This article is written in spanish, but the most important thing on it are the photographies. They speak themselves. I think it's so important to see reports like that. Life is hard, and we must have it on mind. But we, photographers, should use our eyes to show there is always an artistic way to see the world, no matter if what we see is good or bad.

Hoy he encontrado una gran historia que, creo, debe ser contada. Angelo Merendino es un fotógrafo americano que, en un alarde de valentía, decidió mostrar al mundo el amor que sentía por su esposa, aunque esta no sea una historia de final feliz. Cinco meses después de su idílica boda en Central Park, los médicos diagnosticaron a Jennifer, su esposa, un cáncer de pecho. Ellos decidieron luchar contra él juntos, cuidándose mutuamente. Como fotógrafo, Angelo decidió registrar toda esa lucha, enseñándonos cómo el amor puede ser una gran arma contra el dolor. Este es seguramente uno de los mejores reportajes gráficos que he visto, pues nos muestra que incluso en las más horribles situaciones, podemos encontrar belleza, y fortaleza. No puedo dejar de admirar el fantástico trabajo que hizo Angelo, su valor en todos los sentidos. Personas hechas con otra pasta, definitivamente. Por eso, creo que todo amante de la fotografía documental debería verlo, es más, creo que TODO EL MUNDO debería hacerlo. Las fotografías hablan por sí mismas. La vida es dura, y no deberíamos olvidarlo, pero nosotros, los fotógrafos, tenemos el deber de enseñar al mundo los sucesos siempre con un punto de vista creativo, sin importar que lo que registremos sea bueno o malo.
